Wee Willie had his 4 month wellness check today and is doing awesome...as we already knew he was! He weighs 13lbs 8oz and is now 25.5 inches long. Based on other 4 month olds, he is in the 10% for weight and the 50% for length. Based on other 2 month olds, he is in the 75% for weight and the 95% for length! The doc said he looked great, though his perpetual cold and the congestion in his face had her a little concerned. She suspects he might have a sinus infection and saw some fluid in one of his ears, so he is now on his 1st round of antibiotics. She also prescribed some cream for us to use to combat the eczema that now covers his entire body. Luckily, it doesn't seem to bother him...though it bothers us. Lili has always had a few patches of eczema on her arms and legs, but Will has it all over. Babies are supposed to feel soft and smooth...he feels more like a scaly, green critter! Poor guy... Other than that, she reassured me that Will's "strange ways" aren't so strange and not to worry. I mentioned his feedings which have dwindled from a combined 28 ounces per day down to only 15 ounces per day and was told that as long as he is growing and having wet diapers, he's fine. I also brought up the sleeping...how he now puts himself to bed for the night between 6 & 7pm...sleeps until midnight and then is up every 3 hours after that. Again, not to worry...every baby is different. Will charmed her with his goofy little grins and cooing...then the nurse came in and stabbed him 3 times before sending us on our way. He screamed like a boiling lobster, but soon drifted off into dreamland. He then proceeded to sleep the entire afternoon! It's sad how those visits are so traumatizing to the little monkeys. They go into them happy as clams...without a care in the world...knowing nothing of what is to come... How rotten is that?
