It's been a rough week and we haven't even made it through Tuesday yet! I'm not sure what is going on with my kids, but something has taken over their little bodies and is making them C.R.A.Z.Y!
The past few nights Will has slept horribly. Either he's waking up every 1-2 hours wanting a bottle, or he's screaming inconsolably for several hours at a time. As a Mom, I don't think there is anything worse than hearing your baby scream and knowing there is nothing you can do to comfort them. I literally just hold him as he screams and wait for him to pass out from exhaustion...which he always does.......eventually. There is a lot going on in Little Man's body right now. He has his 2 top teeth bursting through...his 1st cold of the season...a growth spurt rearing its ugly head...and of course a wide array of new skills that he is mastering, such as faster crawling speed, pulling himself up, maneuvering himself under chairs & tables and just exploring the world in general. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for him...
Miss. Lili is going through a different kind of crazy. We are in the repeat phase where everything gets repeated, over and over and over and over again...and gets louder and louder and louder and louder...until you do something to distract her. We are also in the phase where she tells you one thing, but then throws a fit because she wanted something else. This also includes the numerous "bedtime delays", where she suddenly asks for everything under the sun. Take last night for example...we had to read her usual 3 books...then she wanted another one...and another one...and continued to ask for more books until we put a stop to it. Then she put her cup in the sink, but moved her hand back and forth to each side of the sink asking if she should put it on the left side...or the right side. If you said put it on the right, she would move it to the left and say, "There?". If you said that's fine, she would move it to the left and say, "There?". Finally we had to tell her that if she didn't put it in the sink we were going to have to do it. Next was the fan. She always turns her fan on. She knows exactly which button to push however these days she will run her fingers across each one and say, "This one?". Even if you say, "Yes, that one", she'll move on to the next one and ask the same thing. After we got the fan on and I put her in her crib, she needed her blanky...then her nuk...then her baby...her bunny...her monkey...and her turtle night light turned on. She wanted to point out the moons that reflect on the ceiling and then I said good night and left the room. What used to be a 5 minute process is now easily 15 minutes just getting from the couch to the crib! Her necklace and bracelets are a HUGE issue right now with her being extremely possessive over them. She has to take them EVERYWHERE and God forbid Will even LOOK at them! The poor kid...he just sees pink and green sparkles and it's like walking through a candy store!
Last night was a little better for us so I'm hoping the rest of the week continues in that direction...
