Looking For A Home For Lola

I just wanted to get the word out that we are looking for a new home for Lola. I'm sure some of you will be shocked by that considering we have always been known to spoil our furry friends......which I am sure has contributed to the problem. Attached are some pics and below is the info that I have been sending to various people who might be interested. If you know anyone who is looking for a dog, please let us know!

Lola is a 6 year old American Bulldog/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who we rescued from a bully breed rescue in Seattle, WA. She was found roaming the streets at 3 months old and we adopted her shortly after that. Initially, the only problem she had was a fear of people and cars. Loud noises startled her and she was very cautious of everyone. She would hide behind couches and under tables until things were safe again. She has definitely gotten over those fears and now loves everyone! In fact, she loves them a little TOO much sometimes! My husband and I have not done the best job in training her, so she doesn't have the best manners. She likes to lay on the couch and sleep in our bed. She greets everyone by jumping excitedly (as long as someone is there to tell her to stay down though, she will!) and she is addicted to FOOD! Food is definitely a big thing for her. You can reach into her bowl and take her food and she will just watch you do it, however she begs at the dinner table and will steal whatever is left out. I truly believe that with some extra time and attention, all of these things could be corrected, unfortunately we don't have that time to give right now.

Lola is completely housetrained and hasn't had any accidents in years. We currently leave her to roam the house by herself during the day while we are at work. We let her out to go potty before we leave and she has no problem holding it all day until we come home. We used to have an English Bulldog as well and Lola got along great with him. We have never had any problems with Lola around other dogs, however she has never been exposed to cats. As for kids, Lola LOVES our daughter Lili. She lets her pull her tail, sit on her, grab her ears, etc. The only thing we have to watch is how much she licks the baby. Once she starts, she just can't seem to stop! Also, at 60lbs, she is quite a bit bigger and can easily knock a young child over if you aren't careful. Lola is a very sweet dog and has a great personality. She loves to go on walks, but is DEFINITELY an inside dog! Other than to race around the yard a few times or relieve herself, she is always inside.

As for why we are trying to find her a new home...life with kids and working full time has left Lola without much time and attention. Of course we love her, but that's also why we're doing this. Hopefully we can find her a home where the family has a little more time for her than we do right now!
