Lili was great during the 1st half and was especially excited to see Ariel and The Little Mermaid scenes. She loved Sebastian! The 7 dwarfs were also a hit. They ran through a couple of songs from each 'main' princess movie (Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Ariel, Mulan, Jasmine and Belle)...then we sat through an intermission. During this time one of our friends (who was sitting down the row from us), came over with her daughter, Audrey, to chat for a minute. The girls were so cute together and Audrey, who is 4, was helping Lili try on her various princess crowns.
The 2nd half of the show wasn't quite so interesting for Lili. It was essentially the Cinderella story and although Lili likes Cinderella, it didn't hold her attention for very long. Next thing you know, Lili decides she wants a hot dog and it was downhill from there. She squirmed...wanted to get down...whacked Drew in the face with the wand we got her...and kept reminding us of her desire for a hot dog. Telling a 2.5 year old that we would get lunch AFTER the show was not acceptable. Needless to say, we left about 30 minutes early. Cinderella wasn't so important at that point, however our SANITY was. Now please don't think she was awful...she wasn't. In fact, considering how long we had already been sitting there, she did well! Anyone with a 2 year old though knows that when it's time to go...it's TIME.TO.GO. So we left. Miss. Lili was so hopped up on lemonade and 'pock-korn', she talked the whole way home. She sang...spewed out lists of words...would randomly tell us she loved someone or liked something...asked where 'bay-bay' was... I'm pretty sure she could have run a marathon...with her mouth...
Here are some pics highlighting our day:
This is Lili dawdling...and her father not helping the situation...
Oooh yay! We have lots of extra time to be rough housing!
Little Man playing with his new toy...the toilet...
Giving brother a 'hug'...
As everyone explained to me later though, it was really a choke hold.
Lili in the pretty coat that Grandma Giles sent her.
SUPERSTAR!! Too bad she told me 5 minutes later that she didn't like the coat and that it was 'too itchy'...
Running from the camera in her custom made, tagless, 100% cotton, non-itchy princess jumper...
She ALMOST looks innocent here...
